Thanks for the info I have a 2M connection regarding my earlier
comments regarding TWs Admin and billing departments I can across
another example of this when I called a lady in the customer liaison
department that I have dealt with before and trust to end the BB
connection. At the moment I have exactly one pound in credit on my
account the lady informed me that I have recently had two credits of
32.00 added to it and she said I just do not know where all these
credits are coming from but I have to call her after the 14th of next
month and she will arrange for a check to be sent .
Absolutely bloody stupid but it TW want to give me sixty odd quid
then they can go ahead but is it any wonder they are God knows how
many million in the red .

Yes, if you are using a router/ATA with Quality of Service (QoS) - the
speed of any downloads or web surfing on attached computers may slow down
to accommodate the bandwidth used by the phone conversation(s).

Yes, usually the other Internet traffic.

Real-time streaming applications like Internet radio and VoIP use UDP,
a somewhat brute-force protocol lacking inherent rate-limiting. Other
Internet traffic such as web browsing and email use TCP, which is
rather more gentle and will rate-limit if it detects that the link is
getting full.

The net effect is that if you send a load of UDP traffic, TCP will
defer to it and step out of the way. So unless youre watching
streaming video while making your VoIP calls, or trying to make more
VoIP calls than your links bandwidth will allow, itll generally work
well enough.

So to use everything at once, you will need a high soeed braodband
really. what happens when/if TVIP becomes popular?

There is no way we will get any thing higher than 1Mbit here,
